March 09, 2017 – UNEP-CEP as Secretariat to the Cartagena Convention with financial support from the UNDP/GEF CLME+ Project will be convening a two day stakeholder dialogue to formulate the Ecosystem Based Management sub-project for the North Brazil Shelf Large Marine Ecosystem (LME). It will take place from March 11th to 12th in Cayenne, French Guiana.Countries from the North Brazil Shelf LME will be represented, as well as the CLME+ Project Coordination Unit, Counterpart International CERMES-UWI, FAO-WECAFC, UNEP-CEP and WWF.
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss the draft proposal, finalise proposed activities and implement arrangements. During the workshop, country representatives will cover thematic areas such as coastal and marine habitats, pollution including water quality and fisheries.
